Vote for Morton in the Community
Morton in the Community, in partnership with River Clyde Homes (RCH), are delighted to announce that we are through to the voting stages of the recently launched Inverclyde Council Participatory Budgeting Scheme.
The scheme encouraged local people to come up with ideas on how budget can be spent in their communities. Council Leader Councillor Stephen McCabe said: “Participatory budgeting is a way for people to have a say and to vote directly on how local money should be spent.”
Working in partnership with RCH, Morton in the Community will provide free football holiday camps delivered at Port Glasgow Shared Campus, for customers of RCH throughout summer and October 2019. These week-long camps will also consist of a free hot meal for all participants in attendance. Furthermore, Morton in the Community will offer employability drop-in sessions to the parents or guardians in attendance. These sessions for parents/ guardians are optional.
As part of Participatory Budgeting selection process, the project that gathers the most votes will be the one funded. Voting for Morton in the Community will take place on Tuesday 5thMarch 2019 and Thursday 7thMarch 2019.

Heather Mitchell, Inclusive Communities Manager, River Clyde Homes; “We’re delighted to be part of this project with Morton in the Community. Receiving this funding would make a significant difference to the children who live in our homes over the school holidays, a time that can be a stressful for parents. We look forward to the voting process and finding out the end result.”
