Greenock Morton Community Trust launched their Girls Football programme last Friday evening, 19th April, at the Battery Park in Greenock, with more than 50 girls attending the first of four free football coaching sessions on the venue’s 3G surface.

Tom Elliott, newly appointed Community Engagement Manager at the Greenock Morton Community Trust, was delighted with the turnout and said, “it was brilliant to see so many girls attending, having a great time and mixing with girls from different local primary school. Over the next few weeks we will be speaking to the girls and their parents and present to them what is happening at a local, regional and national level for Girls Football”.

Elliott added, “Over the coming months we will be working alongside the Active Schools team and Corrie Campbell, SFA Girls and Women’s Development Officer for the West Region to establish an exciting programme so that every girl gets the opportunity to come along and play.”
