GMCT have joined forces with SCVO (The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations) in a programme that is aimed to give young people job opportunities. We are delighted that Grieg has been given a 6 month contract with the community trust. Tom Elliott, Community Engagement Manager said “this is a great venture for us to get involved in by helping to provide experience in the workplace for many youngsters in Inverclyde”.
Earlier today Grieg teamed up with Morton FC’s “award winning” groundsman Mark Farrell as they began to prepare the pitch at Cappielow so that it’s in perfect condition for Peter Weatherson’s Testimonial 7’s Tournament this Saturday.
Grieg is enjoying his work at Morton FC, helping Mark to make sure that the pitch not only looks great but is match ready.
Mark took time out today to explain to Tom the preparation involved in preparing the pitch during the closed season. Mark has made Cappielow a football pitch that Morton fans take a pride in!
