GMCT have given a great opportunity to 2 youths to become community coaches through various training. One of their first duties was to attend a First Aid at Work Course at the British Red Cross Centre last Friday, 24th May. Dylan (pictured right) and Ewan were joined by Greg, who we featured in our first Story of the Week. They all completed their training, having qualified as accredited First Aiders and their certificates will be valid for 3 years.
Our Community Engagement Manager, Tom Elliott is pleased that Dylan, Ewan and Greg have been given this chance with the community trust to gain this qualification. He said “Once again, through our partnership with SCVO, l am delighted that we are able to give something back to the local community by allowing these boys this opportunity to gain qualifications. We are glad to have the boys on board and especially happy that Dylan and Ewan will gain more skills through coaching alongside our more experienced community coaches”.
Looks like another thumbs up for the work that the GMCT are now committed to providing. Hopefully, Dylan and Ewan will be around during our Summer Camps which are running for 6 weeks during the holidays in Inverclyde and Dunoon. You can book online via our website www.mortoncommunity.net and then clicking on SUMMER CAMPS.
Well done boys!
