It was another busy Saturday for our Community Engagement Manager, Tom Elliott as he travelled to Toryglen Regional Football Centre which is adjacent to Hampden Park.  This time though it wasn’t the coaches he was highlighting but our own u11 girls team.  They had been invited to play at the Football Festival that the SFA were running, lead by Corrie Campbell; Scottish FA Girls & Women Club DO, West Region.  This gave the girls their first chance of playing against other girls teams in the same age group and Corrie had tweeted on Thursday “@MortonCommunity can’t wait to see all the Morton girls playing their first match day activity, will be great to see them. Come on e ton”.

The girls were magnificent in all three games, playing against Hamilton, Glasgow City and Giffnock but as the SFA rules state we are not allowed to print the scores.

We caught up with Tom earlier today who was delighted with the girls’ performance saying “the girls were brilliant on Saturday and l was really pleased with all their hard work and effort particularly when it was the first time they had played together.  I must also mention the parents who came along and thank them for all their help and support”.

Well done to all the girls that took park on Saturday.  We hope that you had great fun, enjoyed the experience and look forward to many more festivals in the future.
