At out last home match on Saturday 21st December, GMCT welcomed Morton and Falkirk teams to join some of our community children who had been attending Block 1 sessions for a quick game on the pitch at half time.
Ross Gourdie who coaches Morton Youth Academy U11’s was delighted to bring along his squad of players.
Joining them on the pitch was the Falkirk Football Community Foundation U10’s team who had made the trip with their coach Stewart Hoggan.
The teams enjoyed their short match at half time and it was great to see young boys and girls getting the opportunity to play at Cappielow. The fans of both teams were phenomenal as they cheered all the kids while they played and at the end before the second half kicked off.
Thanks to Ross, Stewart, community coaches and parents for helping on the day and to everyone who came along to watch the match.
The Greenock Telegraph featured a photo on Hogmanay showing all the children who had been involved at half time, copies of which can be purchased by calling the Tele on 01475 558925
