TE youth training

Another busy weekend for our Community Engagement Manager, Tom Elliott as he attended a two day  training conference in Edinburgh along with delegates from a  a variety of sporting background and youth workers.  The conference was run by Youth Scotland and called Practical Problems Sensible Solutions 2014 #ppss2014.

There were various workshops on offer and one in particular caught our CEM’s eye – Benefits of  Sport and Physical Activity.  This practical module utilises Kolb’s learning cycle to explore the benefits that can be delivered through sport and physical activity.  Tom can now examine the learning outcomes from the workshop within our own setting and the programmes that GMCT deliver.

Another one he decided to participate in was Communication, exploring how to develop transferable communication skills through participation in sport.  As you can see from the photo above Tom passed with flying colours!
