Greenock Morton Community Trust have been shortlisted for three different categories in this year’s Greenock Chamber of Commerce “Bees Knees Awards”. Warren Hawke, Consultant for Club Development, believes that the work that the GMCT staff are delivering in the Inverclyde area is second to none.  Along with the Trustees, Warren is thrilled with the progress that has been made during the first year along with the foundations that are being put in place for the future of GMCT.

The next stage comprises of three presentations which Community Engagement Manager, Tom Elliott and PR & Fundraising Manager, Karen Welsh are currently working on over the Easter weekend.  The categories are “Community Engagement”, “Inverclyde Ambassadors” and “New Business”.  The first of these three presentations takes place this Tuesday so fingers crossed.  Both Tom and Karen are delighted that GMCT have reached the shortlist on their first year of applying for these awards.

Karen said, “During our first year, there is no doubt that we engage with the community of Inverclyde and this has been proven over the past two weeks during our packed Easter Camps.  Not only that but GMCT are growing especially with the introduction of Micro Morton at our camps.   It’s been a fantastic two weeks at our three venues during the school holidays.  Tom and l are looking forward to showcasing the first class work that are currently being delivered by the GMCT community coaches”.

Tom added, “It’s been a rollercoaster of a first year and has far exceeded my expectations in terms of what GMCT have in place in such a short space of time”.

Good luck to everyone over the next few weeks!
