Thanks to our wonderful groundsman, Mark Farrell, our summer camps this year KO on Monday 30th June at Cappielow Park. Pictured above with Tom Elliott, Community Engagement Manager, Mark is currently preparing the pitch for pre-season matches but is delighted to be able to offer Greenock Morton Community Trust the use of Cappielow for one week.
Mark commented, “The work that Tom delivers to the community of Inverclyde is second to none and it’s great when the kids get the opportunity to play on the pitch here at Cappielow. The Scotland National Team have trained this season under the eye of Gordon Strachan, the U21s have also trained here with Billy Stark while the U17s have played a number of matches on the pitch. ”
So the kids in Inverclyde are following in the footsteps of our national team and we can’t wait for the 30th of June to arrive so we can start our World Cup Summer Camps 2014.
As the World Cup started on Thursday, we’ve also began our countdown to our World Cup Camps and Tom Elliott stated, “What a thrill the kids will get when they arrive on the first morning with the pitch in pristine condition. Myself and the rest of the community coaches are really excited about coaching at Cappielow but also for the rest of the summer at Battery Park, Wemyss Bay, Port Glasgow & Dunoon.”
So here we go, 15 days to go – have you booked your place yet?
