With our World Cup summer camps and the Bee’s Knees Awards, it’s been a hectic summer for the Community Trust. That’s why we’re delighted to announce a new member of staff to help Karen and the team as the new season approaches.
Jennifer Straine joined the GMCT on 2nd June as our new Funding Officer – a role which sees her play a vital part in matching funding bodies to the trust’s medium and long-term projects.
After graduating from Glasgow University with an MA (Hons) in Digital Media and English Literature, Jennifer worked first for the Daily Mail group as a marketing consultant, then for Caledonian Macbrayne on a crew transfer project.
Now, just a month into her new job, Jennifer, who is from Gourock, says she is enjoying her time at Cappielow and is fully behind the community initiatives of the GMCT.
“I get to deal with a lot of different people from different industries which is something I enjoy,” she said.
“I’m a local girl, so I always tried to keep track of what was going on with the team and always wished them the best.
“I always say it’s important to get behind local clubs – especially in a place like Inverclyde.”
