Dear GMCT Supporter,
Countdown to Easter Camps 2015
Busy times for GMCT this week as we are now counting down to the start of our Easter camps which are running in Inverclyde during the Easter holidays. There is still some preparing to do this week and next but I caught up with Brian McLaughlin, Community Engagement Manager who told me “I am delighted with the programmes that we are able to offer this Easter and especially pleased with the partnerships we continue to have while developing these camps”.
The camps are for 2-4 and 4-12 year olds and will are running in conjunction with the SFA, Inverclyde Leisure and Active Schools/Sports Development Inverclyde. There is an exclusive ‘girls only camp’ during the first week at Notre Dame (Tuesday – Friday) which Corrie Campbell, Scottish FA Girls & Women Club DO is thrilled about.
Details of all our camp options and booking your place online can be found at MORTON EASTER CAMPS
There is still time to book up and grab your child’s place on our camps. This is a great opportunity for children between the ages of 2-4 and 4-12 to come along this Easter and enjoy our unique camp experience. There will be many themed days and everyone who attends will receive a certificate for completing the camp, a small gift and a free match voucher to the Morton v Peterhead match at Cappielow Park.
Yours in football

This squad is a stepping stone on the pathway for the performance squad which runs for 12 weeks and at the end of the block the National Squad is selected from the Regional Squads across Scotland.
Well done Hannah! Im sure you’ll do us proud!

Greenock Morton Hockey Club
by Alan Martin
On Saturday 14th March the Men’s development team featuring mostly U16 and U14 players from the club alongside a couple of more senior players faced up to Rottenrow who are looking for promotion.
The Rottenrow team is made up of all adults so it was always going to be difficult to match them. The juniors in the team however rose to the occasion and showed exceptional skills and team work to eventually run out 2-1 winners at the National Hockey Centre.
The previous meeting between the sides had finished with a heavy defeat so it was very encouraging to see the level of progress that has been made in the space of a few months.
As a club it is very encouraging to see so many of the juniors playing so well and shows we have a bright future ahead. The youngsters in the team know how much hard work and dedication it will take for them to progress onto 1st XI hockey but this performance is a good step in the right direction.
Particular mention should go to James Wood, Jack Jones, Fraser Melville and Bruce Glenny for top class performances on the day.

Congratulations to Melissa Dickinson (pictured right), one of our Admin Assistants, who has recently completed a SVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration. It has been a busy few months for Melissa while she added this great qualification to her CV. Her training provider, Galloway, have been very supportive during Melissa’s journey to complete this course and her assessor, Rebecca, sent her personal congratulations when the SVQ was finally signed off earlier this month.
I am absolutely delighted with the progress that Melissa made during this qualification and her dedication to the Community Trust team.
Welcome to a new member of staff, Keri Ann McKee (pictured left), who joined the Community Trust as our new Media/Admin Assistant this week. If anyone wants to get in touch with news or a story to be featured then please contact Keri on media@mortoncommunity.net
