Greenock Morton Community Trust is the charitable arm of Greenock Morton Football Club. The Trust provides numerous community based activities in Inverclyde, including after-school sports coaching, employability training, health and wellbeing services and runs around 20 community sports teams. Greenock Morton is one of Scotland’s oldest professional football clubs, having being founded in 1874 and currently plays in the Championship of the Scottish Professional Football League.
As a result of an expansion of the Trust’s activities and the appointment of a Finance Director to both Trust and Club, a vacancy has arisen for an experienced bookkeeper to join on a part time basis, for circa 20 hours per week.
In this interesting role, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial records and systems of the Trust and Club to trial balance level. In particular, this will include:
– purchase ledger maintenance, including supplier statement reconciliations and producing supplier payments lists;
– supervision of the sales ledger;
– posting and maintaining the nominal ledger;
– petty cash reconciliation;
– bank reconciliations
– other ad-hoc financial and administrative duties as required
This position will be based at Cappielow Park, Greenock.
To be considered, you should have significant previous bookkeeping experience to trial balance level. You should also be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel, in addition to possessing good communication and team working skills.
