Greenock Morton Hockey Club are hosting their annual fun day at Clydeview Academy on Sunday 17th December between 10am and 11.30am.
Every year GMHC invite the parents of our junior players to take part in hockey activities alongside their children, usually playing some fun, small sided games.
Alan Martin, Head of Morton Hockey, stated: “It’s a great way to try and encourage members and parents to engage more with the club”.
There will be tea and coffee available and parents are asked to bring along any home baking they wish to donate. The final part of the day is to have a kit swap so we can gather in any kit that no longer fits and can be recycled among members.
Alan commented: “Getting parents involved alongside our junior stars is great for the club, we have strong values at Morton in the Community and a family friendly environment is really important to us”.
Brian McLaughlin, Development Manager, at Morton in the Community comments: “We are seeing an exciting and healthy participation increase in our hockey activities.
“In the month of November, we had 280 engagements in after school hockey classes with our Club Connect Coach, Jonny Roy. This is out with our 70 Greenock Morton Hockey Club members who engage weekly”.
