Walking football gives residents of Inverclyde and surrounding areas the opportunity to play the beautiful game at a leisurely pace in a relaxed environment. Typically, the session is open to male and females aged 50+ however, this is not strict criteria and anyone interested should get in touch.

As part of the sessions participants will also be invited down to Cappielow at 2:15pm to enjoy a tea/coffee and biscuits and have a ‘blether’ around the match.

Brian McLaughlin, Development Manager, Morton in the Community: “Due to the success of walking football at Inverkip, I am delighted we have a second centre in Inverclyde for everyone to attend. Walking football allows participants to play the game we all love and I would urge everyone to take part. Huge thanks to HSCP, CVS and Your Voice for the support.”

Maureen O’Neill Craig, Health Improvement Lead, Inverclyde HSCP: “Walking Football is a great example of what can be achieved when working in partnership to get people more physically active which is essential for good health. Not only are people able to improve their well-being but it’s an opportunity to meet new people and reduce social isolation.”
