Team Talk: #APlaceToTalk

“A relaxed environment which is not like therapy, its good you get the chance to speak with similar people.”

What is Team Talk?
Team Talk is a weekly session for men to come along and get a chat with like-minded men. Each participant will have the option of tea/coffee and biscuits. There is no registration, simply just turn up. Those in attendance don’t have to talk, they can just enjoy the company and refreshments. There is also an extra quiet room in case anyone needs some time out.

Do I need to like Football to attend?
The short answer is no. These sessions don’t have a focus on football but sometimes the conversations naturally lead to football.

Who is it for?
Team Talk is for males aged 16+, it provides a space for males to feel included and the opportunity to talk. Participants who have experienced mental health problems have benefited from attending these sessions.

What does a typical session include?
Arrival: Tea/Coffee and biscuits
Question 1: How has your week been?
Question 2: Anything you would like to get off your chest?
Walk around the pitch (Weather permitting)
Tea/Coffee and biscuits.
Question 3: This varies from week to week but has included; If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be and why? What motivates you? If you can attend any sporting event what would you choose? Etc.
Question 4: What has been the highlight of your week?

What if I am feeling happier / more positive?
When participants are having a ‘good’ week, we encourage them to come along as that positivity often helps other participants.

“The highlight of my week is knowing I have team talk to look forward to”

Team Talk takes place every Monday at Cappielow Park from 7pm to 9pm. No registration required, just turn up for a tea/coffee and a chat. Special to thanks to Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership for the continued support and funding towards Team Talk.
