Morton in the Community is proud to announce that 3 community players will be joining Greenock Morton’s Youth Academy for the upcoming season.

Anthony Ward, Aiden O’Malley and Joe Gisbey from our 2010 community team impressed the Ton’ academy coaches with their performances at matches and were invited to train with the Under 11 academy squad. After continuing to impress, the Ton trio were given the opportunity to sign for Morton’s elite academy, an opportunity all 3 boys proudly accepted.

The future stars have all progressed through our player pathway having been involved in Micro & Mini Morton before moving into our community teams. The boys were also regular attendees at our holiday camps.

Blair Kelly, Football Project Worker said: “I am delighted for the boys. I’ve watched them develop since joining Morton in the Community and this opportunity is testament to their hard work and commitment. It is also a credit to coaches Andrew Glover, Barry McNally, Martin Ward and Paul Docherty for the hard work and commitment they put into the 2010 squad. I cannot thank our volunteers enough for their time and support

All at Morton in the Community wish Anthony, Aiden and Joe the best of luck in the next stage of their development. For more information on our community teams, contact boysteams@mortoncommunity.net or the community office on 01475 731949.
