With thanks to ‘Community Response, Recovery and Resilience Fund’ (Foundation Scotland) we will continue to deliver our Team Talk project albeit in a different format.
Support from Inverclyde HSCP and The Kiltwalk allowed us to launch this project in May 2019 and this has resulted in approx. 12 – 15 males attend Cappielow on a Monday evening for the last 10 months.
This relaxed environment has meant men have had the opportunity to feel included and given the chance to talk. As COVID-19 started to increase and with lockdown pending we decided to deliver this online in order to engage the group on a weekly basis.
When launching online we were apprehensive but quickly realised the need for this project in these unprecedented times and the opportunity we had to support the participants positive mental health and wellbeing.
As a result of the funding we are in a position to engage our group more regularly over the coming weeks/ months. Furthermore, we are also looking at other opportunities to engage the group through walking and running activities in line with government recommendations.
The project has had a positive impact previously and will continue to do so in weeks and months to come.
We are excited to welcome the group back to Cappielow for a tea, coffee and biscuits but in the meantime, we will share a virtual cuppa.
