Since May of 2019, we have been so proud to open up Cappielow every Monday night from 7-9pm to give any men over the age of 16 a place to come along and chat and maybe have a coffee or a tea whilst they are at the stadium.

But in April, with all the Covid-19 restrictions that were put in place by the Scottish Government, we saw our meetings being moved online to ensure our safety.

Since then, we have been able to return to the stadium however only in the stands, to once again ensure participant safety throughout these meetings.

As the winter nights roll in, we knew that our participants would need something to keep them warm during our Monday meetings and so, we are delighted to have agreed a partnership with Coffee Haus 2Go who have will provide tea and coffee for each participant who attends each week.

Furthermore, we are delighted to announce a partnership with Clyde Coffee Club who have designed comes a brand-new roast, which is well worth a try!

This roast has been designed for the art of conversation, with this beautifully roasted coffee being used to support a wonderful cause at the heart of Inverclyde, with proceeds from each bag sold helping to go towards funding to ensure that our ‘Team Talk’ project keeps on growing.

Our Employability Project Manager, Ross McLaren, has been delighted to gain this partnership with Coffee Haus 2Go and Clyde Coffee Club as he has said: “We are ever so thankful to both Coffee Haus 2Go and Clyde Coffee Club for their support of Team Talk. Over the last 6 months, the project has had to change a lot. However, with us being able to meet outside in the stands and now enjoy a warm drink, it makes things feel ‘normal’ again.”

Managing Director for the NCO Group, Michael Frizzell, echoed the view of Ross McLaren as he said: “The work and efforts of Morton Community continues to shine through in these bleak and uncertain times, and we are thrilled to help in some capacity, even if it’s just a small coffee.”

Group Brand Ambassador, Blair Kelly, who was part of Morton in the Community for near 10 years, takes pride in partnering up with us in this new chapter as he said: “Proud to partner Morton Community by supporting their valuable project, Team Talks, which gives a platform for men over 16 to talk in a friendly and safe environment. We believe, in this unprecedented time, this project is invaluable for the local community and we can’t wait to see how they grow next.”

But for all the good that comes with this partnership, it is all about making our participants feel as comfortable and as happy as they can when coming to these meetings, which is shown through the joy of one of our participants as they said: “Being back at Cappielow has been great; seeing familiar faces again, talking face to face makes all things seem easier at a time when it matters. The free Cuppa is something to look forward to each week and we are so grateful for the thought that others think of you.”

The Morton Roast is now selling on the Clyde Coffee Club website, with the roast being “hearty coffee best enjoyed over a good old chin wag,” which we urge you all to try!
