Morton Boys Teams
Morton in the Community’s Boys Team provision is a natural continuation on our player pathway. Our community teams give boys a platform to play football from 4-aside to 11-aside.
Our players train twice weekly, guided by a team of dedicated and passionate volunteer coaches, who aim to help improve players technical ability as well as the boys’ confidence and knowledge of the beautiful game.
All teams also participate in a match-day experience once per week in the Paisley & Johnstone League. Our younger age groups play non-competitive matches in a festival format.
Throughout the year, our community teams also take part in team-building days, sponsored walks and an end of season presentation involving some of our other teams. The boys may also have the chance to play and train at Cappielow Park, as well as playing on the pitch at half-time in Morton FC matches.
Morton in the Community currently have Boys Teams at every age group from 2013 to 2005. These squads are currently running at capacity, however, we are continually looking at ways of getting as many boys playing football as we can.
We are always looking for coaches to join our existing team. Coaching positions within our community teams are voluntary, however, we will provide full coaching kit and cover costs for all qualifications required to coach with us (first aid, PVG, coaching qualifications etc).
