
Introducing The Heartbeat of Inverclyde Week: Annual Health Event to Promote Wellness in the Community
20/03/2025Morton in the Community is delighted to announce the introduction of The Heartbeat of Inverclyde Week. This exciting new annual health initiative is designed to raise awareness and promote healthier lifestyles across the community. Each year, the event will focus on a different aspect of health, providing participants with the knowledge, resources, and support to improve their wellbeing.
The inaugural Heartbeat of Inverclyde Week will take place during the week of March 24th, 2025, with this year’s theme centred on Diabetes Awareness and Prevention. The event will engage both children and adults through targeted activities and sessions.
Children’s Sessions – Healthy Eating Education
For children, the focus will be on healthy eating habits through fun, interactive sessions. Kids will learn about nutritious food choices, the role of food groups, and how a balanced diet contributes to overall health.

Adults’ Sessions – Diabetes Awareness Talks
Adults will have access to expert-led talks on diabetes prevention, management, and the latest research. Topics will include risk factors for type 2 diabetes, the importance of diet and exercise, and lifestyle changes to reduce diabetes risk.
